**Note: I plan to use as many “egg” references as possible in this post.**
My travel buddy and I are at it again, and this time taking on breakfast. The best breakfast ever! 10 A.M. on a Saturday morning at Eggspectation in Leesburg. And apparently we weren’t the only ones with the bright idea; the restaurant was already hopping. We had a front booth next to these large windows, hence the “egg”cellent lighting for the photos.
I tried the signature Eggs Benedict (of which there are several varieties available), and my travel buddy ordered pancakes with chocolate chips. Indulgent? To say the least.
My eggs were perfectly poached, with a little runny goodness in the center and a soft outside. The ham was quite flavorful with a sprinkle of paprika, and really coupled well with the rich hollandaise sauce. Oh my! The lightly-toasted English muffin tied it all together nicely. It was “egg”actly what I had been hoping for. Paired with thin grilled potatoes (soft in the center) and a sweet taste of fruit to cleanse the palette, it was an “egg”cellent way to begin the morning.
Now on to the chocolate chip pancakes. The warm cakes were fluffy, and the chips just seemed to melt in place. That’s one inviting photo, huh?. Making me hungry even now.
Got to say, the whole atmosphere was relaxing, friendly, and I would definitely go back! The menu offers much, and even Happy Hour specials. For $14 plus tip, it was a well-spent morning with a good friend.
On the road again,
